Euclid students learn valuable lessons through Dancing Classroom

Fifth-graders at Chardon Hills Magnet School in Euclid danced the morning away thanks to a program called Dancing Classrooms.

The 10-week program, or residency, was brought to all four elementary schools in Euclid. Fifth-graders in every school had 20 lessons where they learned the fox trot, merengue, rumba, tango, swing, and waltz. ‘Dancing Classrooms is not about the dance,’ said Jo Jo Carcioppolo, founding executive director of Dancing Classrooms Northeast Ohio at the March 13 event. ‘Although they danced very nicely today, it’s really the changing of the partners and the respectful interactions.
