Program Info
Since 2008, DCNEO has served more than 30,000 children through its premier program offering, Dancing Classrooms.
Dancing Classrooms is not about teaching dance. Dance is the "tool" we utilize because it requires two individuals to connect (in a manner that is safe, kind, and helpful) and work together to achieve a common goal; the dance step.

Dancing Classrooms
Residency Program
Dancing Classrooms is a 10-week, 20-session in-school residency program for 5th and 8th grade children that utilizes ballroom dancing as a vehicle for change. Classes meet twice/week for one class period each (45 mins). Classes are structured so that students never have a permanent partner, instead circles rotate frequently providing students the opportunity to interact with all peers in a way that is safe, kind, and helpful. Additionally, there is a large curriculum component that is infused by our Teaching Artist.

BREAK Dance
FREE Virtual Program
BREAK Dance is a virtual "brain break" curriculum that was developed in response to educators' requests for "brain breaks". Whether due to challenges with material, lack of focus, or a need to strengthen connections; our curriculum utilizes the power of movement to support teachers and students through this new era of learning.
The Dancing Classrooms program is known to have a transformational impact on students' wellbeing and engagement.
